Tony Kornheiser

Tony Kornheiser, a sports columnist for The Washington Post, joined the newspaper in July 1979 as a general assignment reporter in Style and Sports. In 1984 he became a sports columnist, and in 1989 Kornheiser also began writing a weekly Style column.
He has co-hosted Pardon the Interruption (PTI) on ESPN with Michael Wilbon since 2001 and they will also continue to appear on SportsCenter, which airs their "Big Finish" segment during the opening 15 minutes of the 6 p.m. edition Kornheiser will join Ron Jaworski and Mike Tirico for his 2nd year as an analyst for ESPN's Monday Night Football. The Tony Kornheiser Show, which began on ESPN Radio in January 1998 and which previously aired on WTEM-AM in Washington, DC made its debut this year on Washington Post Radio.
They will also continue to appear on SportsCenter, which airs their "Big Finish" segment during the opening 15 minutes of the 6 p.m. edition.
Before joining The Washington Post, Kornheiser was a reporter for The New York Times from 1976 to 1979 and for Newsday from 1970 to 1976. He is a 1970 graduate of Harpur College in Binghamton, N.Y., where he studied English.
He is the author of three collections of columns from The Post: I'm Back For More Cash, Bald As I Wanna Be, and Pumping Irony.
Kornheiser and his
wife and two children live in Washington.
